4.48 Psychosis

This is a site-specific version of play 4.48 Psychosis by Sarah Kane, set in Huadiwan Curio Market, as season 1 of series 'Approaches to Poetry Drama', produced by international poetry award People and Poetry and its founder, award-winning poet Huang Lihai.

4.48 Psychosis was written throughout the autumn and winter of 1998-99 as Kane battled with one of her recurrent bouts of depression. On February 20, 1999, aged 28, the playwright committed suicide. On the page, the piece looks like a poem. No characters are named, and even their number is unspecified. It could be a journey through one person's mind, or an interview between a doctor and his patient.

《4.48精神崩溃》是英国“直⾯戏剧”开创者莎拉·凯恩的最后⼀部作品。此版本为设计发⽣在⼴州花地湾古玩城的特定场域表演，作为“诗剧的读法”第⼀季，由“诗歌与⼈——国际诗歌奖”和其创办者著名诗⼈⻩礼孩发起并制作。

《4.48精神崩溃》写于1998-99年秋冬季节，期间作者凯恩正挣扎于她反复袭来的抑郁症之中。1999年2⽉20号，剧作家⾃杀，时年28岁。在书⻚上，这部作品看起来像诗。没有名字的⼈物，连代表他们的数字都是不明确的。这可以看作是⼀趟游历在某⼈脑海中的旅程，或者是⼀场医⽣和病⼈间的谈话。
