Hedda Gabler

This is a new version of Ibsen's Hedda Gabler.
Hedda just returns home with her husband Tesman from their Honey Moon trip. However, Hedda feels trapped. She is the step-daughter of General Gabler, who joint this family with her mother since little from overseas. Hedda always seems mysterious. After General Gabler's death, Hedda's life has changed. Later, Hedda married a boring and mediocre scholar Tesman. Tesman's aunt expects Hedda to fulfil her duty as a wife. One day, Hedda's high-school mate Ms. Ai comes to visit them, bringing the news that their dissipated and unrestrained old friend Eilert has published a new book and regains his reputation. Hedda recalls their past from reencounters with Eilert, and her longing for the ideal is becoming stronger. This undercurrent of feelings pushes Hedda to destroy him. Their friend Brack is playing ambiguity with Hedda, who enjoys manipulating people around her. He even threatens her with her secret... The beauty of ideal seems collapsing.

这是易卜生经典剧作《海达·高布乐》的改编。海达和丈夫乔泰刚刚结束蜜月旅行回到家，然而海达似乎透不过气，内心有种穷途末路感。海达是高布乐将军的继女，小时候随着妈妈远离家乡重建家庭，她身上总带着若有似无的神秘感。高布乐将军去世后，海达生活中的人和事都变了样子。而后，海达嫁给平庸又无聊的学者乔泰，乔泰的姑姑满心欢喜地期待海达满足世俗家庭的希望。某天，许久不联系的高中时期女同学艾太太来访，带来了他们的老朋友、放浪不羁的才子乐博格出版新书后重新在学界名声大噪的消息。随后与乐博格的重逢，勾起了海达过去的情愫，也燃起对理想的向往的火光，这股暗涌的情感一步一步推动海达去毁灭他。朋友柏磊与自己玩暧昧游戏，一向热衷操纵他人的海达反被他以自己的秘密威吓…… 理想中的美似乎正在瓦解。
